How Far Do You Travel in a Day
My wife and I are not full timers. But, we only drive 250 max 300 miles usually less in a day in a class A. We take a month or two at a time during the summer even if it takes a little longer to finish our travel plans and things we want to see.l I am the only driver, (my wife doen't drive the RV) I read were some RVers drive hundreds a miles day after day. But we like to set up and take our time once we get to a campsite. Are we an anomaly or just taking our time and just taking short hops between camping spots and keeping driving down to around 5 hours?

It all depends on the distance and time allowed to get there. We prefer 2-300 miles a day but have done 1200 miles in 24 hours.

You don't say where you drive - that is important.
If you are driving in the west you can drive 300 miles and not gone anywhere!

Get a map of west of the Miss. river. Then look at US 40 and 285 for example.
You can drive many 300 mile segments and be in the middle of no where.

in the East if you do 250mi. You won't be in the same state anymore. out west after 300mi your likely still in the same county.

We like to keep our max daily driving to 300 miles with 200 - 250 miles a day being the norm. Like to get into a campground early enough to set up, take a dip in the pool if applicable, and sit outside with a cocktail before dinner.

As many as we cover from when we decide to leave until we decide to stop. Usually seems to be 300-400 depending on weather and how we feel. Have stopped after 120 because I didn't feel like dealing with rain that day. Drove about 800 last summer when we got to our 1st planned stop and felt like going on. Ended up at our final destination 1 day early and before dark.
We will also stop in interesting spots that are not in the plan when there is something that pics our interest.

My wife and I are retired. We have nothing but time. For that reason, we travel between 200 - 300 miles per day. We normally leave aroung 8 - 8:30, and stop for the day around 2:00. No hard and fast limits. We usually pick a campground out before we leave, so that determines how far we are actually going that day.

Base mine on 50 miles in an hour traveling. Figuring gas stops, food, walk the dog/bathroom break. Try to be on the road between 8&9 and drive till 4&5. Don't like to push if not needed and if we see something to explore, we'll stop.

We have found out that if you are staying at truck stops, you need to be there before 3:30 PM. I've done 500 to 600 a day but found out it was too much like work. Now we do about 300 a day, depending on where our overnite will be.
