My 32' Allegro changes with the CG we are staying at. If we stay at a
state park that limits length to 30', well thats how long my rig is. If someone looks at the model number 31WB well than I guess its 31'. If I am talking RV'ing to someone at work or social gathering, then my rig is 32-34ft.

In California some of our progressive Parks list Max Length as 31 feet. I check in and list mine as a 31 foot special, when in fact it measures almost 35 feet.
It always fits into the space with no problem.
The way I look at it, mine is the length they want it to be.

I saw someone advertising a 38' DSDP as a 40', that wasn't you was it? He got kind of indignant when I told him I could tell by the number/size of the storage compartments he had a 38' DSDP.
BTW: a 38' DSDP is something like 39' 2" overall

The RVIA tried to standardize measurements a few years back, to make it practical to compare one RV to another. The idea was to only measure the usable space, e.g. do not include the length of the tongue on a travel trailer, or the pin box on a 5W. Things may get a bit more subjective with a motorhome, but it is NEVER the exterior, end-to-end measurement. That is called the "overall length".

The marketing department determines who they are trying to sell too and sets the length accordingly.
