Our 1968 Truck camper has the original fridge, still making ice, 43 years and counting!

I'm still using the original Dometic refrigerators in my 1973 El Dorado 5th wheel and my 1979 Holiday Rambler travel trailer.

My first class A coach (78 Champion) had the original refrigerator in it when I sold it. It was 23 years old and still working.

My 2004 Norcold 1200 still works, no problem with ice maker or cooling. Has latest recall done. Fingers crossed.

Unit in our 91 Prowler died at 12 years old, replaced with a new and larger unit upon reccommendation of dealer friend. Cost a little more than repair, but we able to upgrade to a better unit with automatic switch over between gas and electric.

Let's see....purchased the '05 RV in '07, had the doors (to the Norcold) fall off in '08. Had the "brain" or control board replaced in '10. It quit on me at a NC camp this year, had to cut my trip short and go home. Lazy Days replaced the recall safety switch. Next breakdown, it will be replaced with a residential fridge.

22 years on our Dometic fridge, and it freezes the ice cream so hard you can hardly scoop it on the middle setting (outside temps in the 80s/90s).

Our Norcold lasted 7 years before it caught on fire. Scary situation, very blessed to have been where we were and to have fellow rv'ers help put it out. Since our insurance claim there have been fifty or more claims. People have died because of the Norcold fires. Recalls are a joke. If you don't want to possibly die because of your Norcold, replace it. Counter depth house unit fit with very few modifications.

Our 1994 is doing great

I think ours is 17 years old and seems to be doing great. Freezer keeps stuff frozen and fridge keeps stuff cold. One repair on a plastic door handle part that broke. Reglued it with super glue and no problems since. It's a Norcold but I don't have the model number handy.
