that's that murphy's law thing. I know you were looking for a real answer, but it's hard to answer cause there are factors. How much do you cook? How big is the tank? What happens if you run out?

So many variables here ........ there is no way to make a call.
Is your gauge accurate?
What is your tank capacity at 80% full?
How many square feet is your RV?
Does your RV have good insulation and double pane windows?
Do you keep water heated 24 hrs a day?
Do you take navy showers or 10 min showers?
How much hot water do you use for dishes?
Do you heat with propane?
Do you use an ineffecient furnace or stand alone heater unit?
What temp do you keep the inside day and night?
What is the outside temp?
Will the refrig be on electric or propane?
Not to sound mean, if your budget is not tight, then I would buy some propane for peace of mind on my outing.

No doubt...I didn't believe it either...been all through that puppy....no 110 connected or could be connected. And on the other side of that....I will eventually one day replace with a on-demand model. Just not today.

FILL IT UP! I came in with 1/3 tank and planned to fill it up before parking. Man who filled propane left early so I went ahead and parked. I settled in, thinking I had enough propane to last. I ran out!!! That meant all that work to set up was for nothing and I had to pack up so I could go get more propane. In the cold weather we have been having I would not take any chances.

And the verdict is...I will be stopping off at the Flying J. down the road and filling up. If they charge by the gallon(or some measure) it's no big deal. I just don't have a good idea of how much propane I use on a day. Heat, WH and minimal cooking inside. We do have a HeatPump but that is a noisy critter it seems when starting up. And when it gets too cold...you are rudely reminded.

It will last till it runs out................Fill it up. Propane will not go bad. If you don't use it on this trip you will use it on the next one.

I guess the other thing no one asked...where we are going, they don't sell Propane at the park. So that too helped make my mind up. Thanks all.

If you wait until you run out just when you really need it, you might be sorry you asked the question. For what's it's worth, I refill mine at 1/3 of a tank and have never run out when it's needed.

The weather is supposed to be warming all weekend through next Tuesday. Meaning the lows will be initially in the 40s and should be in the upper 50s. We have an all gas hot water heater too. So my question is based on your experience, can I make the weekend(4 days) or should I cut bait and fill up before leaving?
Hoping I left you enough information so you can make ygour educated guess/decision.
Thanks in advance.

I would wait. LP is very high right now.

Not if you're diesel powered.

Sure it will. When it runs out, that's where you are going

Definitely not enough info. A 5 gal tank will last til rust thru if never used, a few hours if boiling crawfish. You're somewhere between there.
Are you cooking with stove or oven? How much? RVQ outside? Do you rely on furnace for all heat or do you use electric heaters?
Do you have any type of spare tank to use if you run out?
Play it safe and top off. Then enjoy with no worries. :*)
