...a tube of silicone sealant should come with every RV purchase ?

Absolutely NO Silicon anywhere near an RV.

IF a tube of silicone was included I would just throw it away
Problem with silicone is it won't even stick to itself.....can clean it off BUT then have to remove the residue which requires a solvent.
Dicor, Proflex etc can be redone right over existing sealant, easy clean up--just scrape it off and reapply and NO solvent required.

Some swear by it...
Others swear at it.
There is a reason most / all? body shops won't allow it on the premises.

how is dicor different than caulking ? not talking about the roof, but other uses like window, sink or ??? in one off my storage area used it to fill a gap where it didn't meet the wall right.

See no problem using it inside.....For a widow leak, I'd pull the window and use butyl rubber to reseal...
