I still have a few upgrades/repairs to finish and if I can get them done in time we might take the motor home someplace reasonably local for a shakedown run. Trying to get help (should something go wrong) on a holiday weekend is next to impossible

We're off to the Strawberry music festival this weekend, just up the road from us in Grass Valley, Ca. http://www.strawberrymusic.com/home.aspx
It should be a fun weekend. They have a large RV parking section with full hookups and lots of lawn. This will our first trip in this motorhome, soon followed by much more....

And for summer camping at any beach area, you need to make a reservation a year in advance if you are lucky which is why we never try at that time.
Same here but this weekend we are going to visit friends. Leaving today and staying thru tuesday to try and get a little uncrowded time

You would think with all the people here that don't go on busy weekends (and we are some of the people normally) that there wouldnt be anyone at a campground! LOL But alas that is not so.

There's an official start of the season??? Lol..

We've only been full time since November and was never big on holiday weekends. Always tried to put the holidays between 2 week long vacations. Putting us where we were going a week ahead of the rush. Then sit back and watch the fun roll in...

Since Mid March we have rolled from the RGV to Amana Iowa and it's cold.... 45 this morning - bright sunshine and breezy. The "season" seems to be starting out wet and cold. Hope everyone stays warm and dry and has a great holiday!

lol, yes that is always a good plan! We hosted at a campground years ago and we use to call Sunday Hoover Day, that was when all the people got sucked out of the campground!

We don't go out on holiday weekend, too many people on the road driving crazy.
Parties and late nights at the campground and higher rates. We just lite the campfire in our yard and enjoy our BBQ. For all of you travelers, safe travels.
