I went to vancouver island last spring. If I was in just the right spot, my us cellular phone would pickup a signal from sequim or olympia and let me text (no way could I talk!)
My buddy who lives there will not call me, or receive my calls, on his canadian cel phone ever. Aparently they use taxes on cel calls to give welfare checks to first nation peoples who have never worked a day in their lives... or so my friend says...whikle griping about the cost of fuel
