how to pack breakables when travelling

new to rving and planning a huge trip. How do you pack your breakable dishes and glasses when travelling.

Everything, with the exception of coffee mugs, are either plastic or paper. Using anti-skid as a shelf liner helps. Amazon has this product and much less expensive the RV stores. 1) don't pack breakables, accumulate a collection of good plastic stuff. In fact, you can replace as you go; pack the breakables you can't do w/out the replace them w/more serviceable stuff when the inevitable happens.
2) if you must own glass (no excuse for plates & bowls, its just a matter of shifting gears, but for a good wine somehow its just not genetically possible to switch to plastic for some), find a box w/dividers, cut it to height so you don't waste volume, and voila! Stemware stays upright, protected & together. If the space thing gets too involved for standard boxes, make one yourself including the dividers.
3) the large size Cheerios boxes you get from Costco can be made into perfectly serviceable dividers once you lower your cholesterol by eating the fun little loops inside. I prefer mine w/yogurt instead of milk, but I digress as I inevitably do.
4) Cutting sheets (used in lieu of cutting boards) also make great permanent dividers, very durable.

We refuse to use plastic, and hardly ever use paper. Our dishes are pretty much a duplicate of what we have in our stick and brick. They are put into the cupboards with the waffle type rubbery shelf liner stuff between plates and bowls. Cups and glasses sit on the shelf liner. In seven years of traveling 6 months or so a year, the only stuff that has broken has been stuff I have dropped while washing.

We don't use plastic or paper. We use the same stuff as we have in the stick house. We also just put items in the cabinets just like home. Did break a corelle plate once when it slipped and hit the tile floor

We use real plates and glasses...it's part of what makes our RV home.

We pack our plates on shelves with protective separators (basically just some nonstick liner). Our wine glasses and mugs we stuff in a wine box with foam to make a tight fit. Into our 4th fulltime year on the road and no breakages so far.

Haven't decided what we will do when we go full-time. Since we flew out to buy our Bounder, we carried some things on the plane including Corelle like dishes. We knew we were going to need to buy lots of things since it was to be a 15 day maiden voyage and Annie saw these colorful plates and bowls at Wally world. Not for everyone I'm sure, but wakes me up in the morning with my huevos rancheros and look fine on any picnic table they meet. First meal thrown together night one - little grilled pork chop, frozen corn, a salad and sun tea. Nuthin fancy but one of the best meals I ever had!

Anything breakable , broke 4 RVs ago. The best thing we tried before the DW gave up on it was , packing any unfilled areas in the cupboads with, low density , high expansion foam rubber pillows. Squeeze them down and cram them in... worked fine till we drove the Gaspe, in Quebec..

Get a wine carry out 6 pack carrier, most wine stores and upscale grocery stores will have them, you might have to buy some wine though. The wine carrier works well for larger glasses (and maybe glass jars). Use the cardboard 6-pack carrier from a glass bottle 6-pack of beer for wine glasses. The handles are usually too tall, just cut them down with a pair of sturdy scissors.

Took some doing but got accustomed to fine wine in plastic / acrylic wine glasses. Heck I've even gotten used to some pretty good wine coming in a bottle with a fake cork and heaven forbid a screw cap.
