How to Sell a Motorhome?
I may be putting up my motorhome shortly for sale. I am not that concerned about the money swap. I will let the banks work that out. What will I need to do for a "Bill of Sale" or will I need to do anything?

You will need to provide a clear title to the buyer. If you have a lien on the title, the bank holds the title and the lien will have to be satisfied before the title is released.

In TN the title has a place to sign & transfer over ownership on the back. All's I had to do is complete this and hand over the title to new owners. I can't remember if there is a place for value or not.

You will need to either pay off the lien before the transaction, or arrange to complete the transaction in the office of the lien holder, at which time they will get their money and you will get whatever is left.
I think any buyer will want a bill of sale. You can get a generic one from any used car dealer or online.
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

A little off subject, but since you are going to sell, you might benefit from reading this:

We will make our final decision on what we see at the Tampa RV Supershow. If we do I have already planned on doing a lot of pictures and post them on the Tiffin forum, this forum, RVTrader and RVT.

When you decide to sell...Don't skip Craigslist.
We listed our last RV on every site available, but the vast majority of calls were from the Craigslist ad.
Yes you get some tire kicker's that way, but that is how it sold.
Yes, post LOTS of pictures. We even "staged" the RV (serving set on the dinette, made bed, folded/fresh towels in the bath, etc.)
For ads that restrict the number of photos, we offered more by e-mail upon request.
Best luck

Now that I have my RV for sale and I have some possible buyers coming to look I am thinking now what. I contacted the BotW which holds the title. They said they would need either a wire transfer or cashiers check. I am thinking the wire transfer would be the best. But how does that work? I am sure this takes time and I am sure the buyer has concerns also where his money is going to. The buyer would also have to send me a wire transfer for the amount that is over the payoff. I am assuming he would send that to my bank. Again how does this work? I don't plan on letting the motorhome leave until I get my money and the BotW gets there money. The CS rep at BotW said I would also have to send them a fax showing where to mail the title to. Is this normal procedure?

When the lien is paid off, the title will still be in your name. You will need to sign the back of the title over to the buyer. Car dealers often handle this with a limited power of attorney but that is getting complicated. The easiest thing to do would be to give the buyer a bill of sale and possession of the RV at the time of money transfer and have the title mailed to you. Then sign the title and send it to the buyer. He can then register it in his name.

I am assuming you mean after I confirm the money transfer? How long does this take? I don't want to give the buyer possession until I know the money has been transferred. I do agree that having the title sent to me for me to sign and then give to the buyer would be the best option.

I think it would be a good idea to contact YOUR lending institution and ask them specifically how this transaction works, what they expect from you as well as the purchaser. These are the folks you'll need to satisfy in order for the transaction to go smoothly.

I did that and that is noted in my post several up from this. It was like pulling teeth to get any info from them.
