Our kids are in NSB too but they were able to board their house up and heading to Memphis area where they have some friends to stay with. they intend to head back just as it hits the NSB area and take the long westerly path back basically driving around and under it as it passes. I did this with Mathew. Flew into Clearwater the night before, heading right into it the next morning, by the time I got to NSB I was right at the tail of it and started cleaning up immediately.

If the path and projections hold by the time it hits Orlando area it will be down to a weak 2 or strong 1. So "IF" that holds you could keep an eye on it and head west or east depending on which way it leans. That would put you in Tropical force winds at least. Either coast is an hour and half away. Again that is if it stays on current track.

Take care.
Hey neighbor we live in NSB right now they are calling for 70 MPH winds we r staying fortunately MH is in storage at my buddy's warehouse hopping for the best stay safe in travels

my daughter 50, and two grandchildren, 22, and 19, live in oakdale, about 25 miles southeast of orlando. she went thru andrew and one of the more recent one. shes prepared, and i just couldnt talk her into evacuating.
no shelters would take her three little dogs. i know how some people feel about pets, but they are family to her, and my wife, so i know where she gets it from.
there is another hurricane , jaime, four days behind this one, and it looks like its also a cat 4 storm.
one thing, the insurance wont have to pay more than one. just be sure to document everything. there are folks in houston that are having a problem with this. insurance companies are reluctant to take their word for losses.
btw publix near my daughter is charging 7 dollars for four 12 oz cans of campbell chicken noodle soup. i guess she should count her lucky stars she got that. anyway, she complained to the credit card company. publix manager told her if she didnt like it, go somewhere else.
i guess it doesnt matter in the course of things. lots prayers are need for all of the victims.

We are in N.Fl. and plan on staying unless it looks really bad. Already bathe the dogs twice and if we leave they will get another 2 bathes. Old yard dogs are full of dander and strong odor. I'm alergic to them.

AMEN, our last Governor did not have the smarts to give Police Escorts to fuel trucks to keep the gas stations open for people trying to evacuate or get generator gas for those that will be staying without power.

Looking for the best parking space possible may be your only option

If the secured site that is 15 miles away can withstand a Cat 2 hurricane then that is your first option as you want to use the MH to live in after the storm. The lot that is closer may also be an option if you can park it between two other units. I did this with my TT during hurricane Wilma and only had minor damage. The TT was still usable. The facility is only a mile away and after a hurricane that may be very important as most roads will be impassible with downed tree and signs. If you can you may want to park it as close as you can to your house and way from trees. The winds look to be coming from the east for you so I would park it on the west side if you can. Make sure the levelers are extended so the unit doesn't rock to much. Don't evacuate now, it's too late and fuel is questionable. What ever you do, don't stay in the MH. During Hurricane Andrew my friend's class A was flipped upside down.

No, there is another hurricane, Jose, behind this one which is no threat to Florida or the US.

The OP is fine, he doesn't need to go anywhere; he was just concerned about the best thing to do for his MH to ride out the blow. I'm north of him and my MH fits in my driveway, so that's where it will be.
My father is east of him in the Melbourne area, I have one son and his family in Sanford, and another son and DIL in Largo. All are sheltering in place in concrete block houses with windows covered in no flood danger areas. Not our first hurricane rodeo.

Well, Hello neighbor!

I am watching the storm pretty close hoping the winds do not get that high but better than a cat4 for sure. I am flying down next week in case we sustain any damage to the house or the coach. We love the area this is just part of the program.

Good Luck and Stay safe!!

Apparently there is some regulation or law that states that you cannot turn away anyone because of animals in an emergency relocation.

Maybe you should do a price check before you say something like this.
My wife bought groceries last weekend. She too complained about the price of Campbell's soup. A 12 oz. can of chicken noodle soup (condensed) was $1.89 per can. This adds up to $7.56 for 4 cans.
If the 4 cans of soup were being priced at $7.00 each I'd complain. Otherwise she got a bargain.
BTW, I live 20 miles south of the Canadian border. Far away from the storm area.

You say your coach won't fit in the driveway ?
If only too long, I'd still park it there as the debris may stop you from getting home afterwards...

good luck !

I'm not sure about that as there are 2 pet designated shelters in our area. The others won't take pets. It might be that they have to have some shelters that are pet designated, but I'm not sure that all shelters have to take them.
