Hey everyone!
Well, Louisiana has survived yet another hurricane. We are not back to normal yet, but it probably won't take us long.
I would like to take this time to offer my condolences for those who have suffered due to Katrina and Rita. You folks are in my prayers.
On a happier note, Rita was the first hurricane that came our way since we bought our MH. We had the MH loaded and ready to go a few days early, so when the boss shut everything down, we loaded up a few relatives and took off. We traveled about 100 miles north east from where we live and rode it out at a campground. We then came back home Sunday to check out the damage. Thankfully, we suffered only minor damage to a shop building and a tractor shed. I lost about 8 shingles from the roof of my house. That was IT! We had a harder time with Lilly.
Anyway, our electricity was off, so I kept the genset running and with an extension chord, ran the fridge in our house. It sure was nice to be able to take a shower when needed and to sleep in air conditioning.
Yesterday our electricity was turned back on at about 6 pm but I kept the MH up and running on the genset for a couple of hours just in case.
Anyway, I want to thank all of you who were praying for us. Keep those prayers going for those who were not as fortunate as us.
