I-40 Closure at NC/Tennessee Border

Good day all,

Looks like I-40 both east and west bound between the NC 20 mile marker and the 432 mile marker in Tennessee will be closed for an indeterminate time due to a rockslide, possibly up to 6 weeks.

The suggested detour (per the NC Highway Patrol)

Coming from Knoxville, I40 to I81 to I26 to Asheville

From Asheville, I26 to Johnson City, to I81 and then back to I4
0.

This is from an bulletin posted by the NC Highway Patrol on October 25.

Safe travels!
