It's because everybody goes about a bizillion miles per hour while texting on their phones.

There are a lot of things that would help but I think strictly enforcing a 55 MPH speed limit on all trucks on all interstate highways would be the most productive. Of course the trucking industry lobby is a lot more powerful than the voters so that will never happen.

That's why we always avoid interstates.

Me too, plus there is nothing to see on an interstate hwy. I-75 is paralleled by US 27 and US 23 for much of it’s length. In Florida SR98 is also a great alternative to I-75 along with other US highways .No shortage of alternatives to I-75

The mess is partially due to lack of enforcement of present FL driving laws IMO. Live cameras monitoring traffic is part of the present solution recommendations, it should include receiving a traffic violation citation by mail, initiated by those cameras. ( and likely already does)

I-75 in FL is the only stretch I know of where you hold up traffic if you drive 70, and the police pass you when you're going 75.

There is no way I-75 can be worse than I-4!!
Talk about a dangerous road, constant construction, rough as a corn cob, constant lane changes & redirection.......TERRIBLE!

I-75 report

Florida .. lack of enforcement. Bought winter property there ... Speeders .. a large percent doing 80+ with “retirees” and many others doing 55 in the middle lane and a large amount of tourists and foreign drivers clueless to where they are going doing stupid things looking for the exit. Lots of close high speed lane changing
Also , Since we traveled the entire country I can be sure in my belief I’ve never seen as many red light runners in my life as are in Florida. A football foot ahead yellow means floor it . Even the cops follow this rule. When the light turns green you can count at least two red light runners before it’s safe to go.
Some enforcement of the existing rules would stop this nonsense and provide money to repair the roads. I’m not holding my Breath! Just get home and have a double.

We've been across the country numerous times with our TT and there is very little if any traffic enforcement anywhere. Its simple to see why people drive the way they do. Reminds me of the wild west- survival of the fittest.

Some drivers see speed limit signs as a challenge.

They don't enforce the speed on I-75 very well in most places, but they sure do in Ohio between Dayton and Cincy.
