I should have mentioned that there was absolutely no other place I could put the new TV. I certainly would not have spent the money for the motorized mount if it could have been done any other way.

I wouldn't mind knowing the name and model of the lift either.

Nice job by the way. Like you, I do the work on the RV for us. Everyone else can get their own RV!

I did a lot of research on motorized lifts and this company has by far the best price and the perfect lift for my requirements. I took the one that is on sale for $540 and has a 36" lift. The pic below shows what the top of it looks like without the spread. I could have paid $240 more and got the model with 30" lift which would have been fine. It would have been 4" shorter and not be so noticable behind the couch, but the spread was cheaper!

Joe, that looks great! We have the recliners and the next step is the same. I agree, when we have guests the TV turns off! The link did not show up on the lift.

Great idea! I probably would have gone with a swing down ceiling mount because we host 'movie night' most of the time but I really like your solution.

I'm surprised that nobody makes a class A with a lift that brings the TV up from inside the dash. Sure seems like there would be enough space to put a 40 to 50 inch screen in there with some clever engineering.

I predict that within a few years you will be able to roll your TV screen up like a window shade and put it anywhere you wish. (Actually it's already been done so now it's just a matter of scaling and production, and marketing or course. they already make displays that require no physical connection to the tuner/computer so the only hurdle remaing is powering the wireless communication and the screen but that's probably a trivial problem)

Lets try this again! The company where I bought the motorized lift is firgelliauto.com . I can't post a link right now because their website is down. Below is the pic that didn't work before showing the lift behind the couch without the spread covering it. This is the view as you are standing in front of it. When you are sitting it is not so obvious.

A fold out bed?

Is that couch a fold out bed? Pretty cool to lay there backwards & watch a 40" HD that close!

Great idea to put a space that seems to only collect junk & dust bunnies (or in our case retriever toys) to use.

By The Way

We call the things you can hit your head on 'Bonkers'. Every RV we've ever had came with at least one Bonker.
