I got rid of the head-banger!

When we bought the MH, the old tube-type TV was hanging down in a cabinet above the dash as most were back in 2002. There were several things wrong with this arrangement. Besides being an eyesore, I banged my head on the cabinet just about every time I got in the MH (I'm a slow learner!), had to pull the recliners out in the middle of the floor and get a sore neck looking up at the TV, and besides, I wanted a nice flat-screen to enjoy!

I bought a Samsung 40" flat-screen LED (only 1.2" thick) TV and a remote-controlled motorized lift and installed it behind the couch. I ran new cables from the front overhead cabinets down the windshield post, under the MH, through the cable pipe into the slide, through the cabinets in the slide, and finally to the TV. I relocated the center-channel speaker for the home theater system from above the dash to above the couch beside the TV. I can now sit in my recliner directly across from the couch, push a button to raise the TV, and enjoy some great satellite programs! I am going to have a cabinet shop remove the old TV cabinet and build a new one that will be level on the bottom with the other overhead cabinets above the dash. They will put a door on it so that space can be used for storage. Below are a couple of pics with the TV retracted and in viewing position. I will update this at a later time when I get the cabinet work done.

It's great if you only sit on the recliner to watch tv, but now nobody can sit on the couch and watch?

I thought about that, but I think that if we have guests we will probably be carrying on a conversation, playing cards, etc., not watching TV. For the rare occasions that we might want to all watch TV, we have three dining chairs available, and there's always the floor! My primary concern is making OUR travel more enjoyable, not entertaining guests.

Drinks for 6, Dinner for 4, sleeps 2.

Where can we fit a TV item in that statement, eh!

Nice job. I'm with you. Only ones when visiting that will watch TV are the grand-kids and they don't care where they sit, lay, jump, run, etc.

I thought you meant the last kid had moved out.
