I am looking for a LPG Generator for my cabin. It should be about 7-8KW and have an electric start. We want to use it for our primary power. And just not sure which one to purchase. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Look at this place. Great prices on Honda generators (yes they have an LP model). I've bought a generator and some yard power tools from them. Nice to do business with.

Honda no longer makes LP powered generators.

I have a gasoline Yamaha 3000 watts - super quiet.
Here is a web site for a propane version of the larger Yamaha. Site for reference purpose only.
Consider a smaller generator with a battery/inverter set up so you don't have to listen to the engine all the time.

Home Depot carries a Guardian 7,000 watt propane home standby generator
that's made by Generac for $1888. I'm not sure how it'd hold up under constant use but it has an industrial grade engine.

If you can set up a diesel tank and get delivery I would suggest one of the Yanmar air cooled diesel generators instead of propane. They will cost less to run than the propane. Double check how much it will cost you per day to run on propane compared to gas or diesel before you go too far on this.
In Clearwater Florida propane is typically $2.50 a gallon while regular unleaded is $2.90 and Diesel is $3.05. A quick search of generators on the internet shows that a 7K generator uses about 1.5 gallons of propane an hour and has the potential to cost 36 gallons or $90 a day to run while on gasoline the cost would be around 21 gallons or $60 a day and Diesel would be around 13 gallons or $40 a day based on a 24 hour day at half load. Just some food for thought.
Regards,

I have a Generac 4000 W. RV generator, with the problems that I have had I wouldn't recomend a Generac for anyone. (for a RV gen it is extreemly noisey, valves were out of adjustment from the factory causing hard starting and running on at shutdown, using 1-1500W elect. heater and the output voltage goes down to 108V.)
