Check the door seals for a tight fit. A good seal will hold a dollar bill in place. A poor seal the paper will easily slip out.

Second, cut back on fridge surfing. The longer the door is open the more warm moist air will enter.

This is normal because it is not frost free like a home refrigerator. You will need to turn it off and let the ice melt every few weeks. On ours we remove the freezer contents but not the refrigerator's. If you can prop the freezer door open it will melt in about an hour and mostly drain into an internal pan to evaporate.

Keeping the door open for an extended time causes frost to form so get what you want quickly and close the door. That will help but it will not prevent it from happening.

Don’t no what kind you have, mine has a defrost mode. Check and make sure it is set property.

First thing I’d do is check the seal to ensure a good seal. Place an LED light inside, turn lights out to have a dark room and see if you see any light coming from the freezer.

Just my two cents.

I used 1" magnetic tape stuck around perimeter of door opening to improve the seal of my door. Then I installed a small 12v fan inside and my ice build up stopped. You can also buy one like this on ebay, https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dometic-Ref...-/181208057633, to install if you don't want to make your own. I have a single door Dometic 8555. I don't have a issue with ice build up in the freezer but if I did I would add a fan to the freezer as well. It definitely sounds like you have a seal issue. Also check where the refrigerator light wiring comes out on the inside. That hole in mine also let hot air in and shorted out my light. I plugged it with plumbers putty but butyl putty tape would work well also.

It would help if you told us what brand of refrigerator you have. Is it an RV fridge or residential?

Look for sticker on door jamb/side wall ....freezer, food compartment

AS for door seals..........

Take 4 cotton balls....place one under seal at each corner.
Then warm seal using blower/hair dryer. (WARM do not overheat and best to have two people cause you need the seal warm all the way around)
Then close door and let seal cool/reset....then remove cotton balls

If the refrigerator is on all the time - like a long month vacation or full-timing you'll need to defrost it every 2-3 weeks. Weekenders rarely notice this problems.

What does the cotton balls and hair dryer procedure do?

Cotton balls force seal outward and warming seal up then closing door and letting seal cool allow sea to 'reset'
