No, there are bad dogs. That a bad dog was caused by a bad owner is irrelevant to me.

[Mod Edit] My dogs a vegan or I think my male dog may be female! They coddle these dogs when there pups, no discipline, no training, yet they think everyone loves there dog. Keep that dog on a leash and put a muzzle over its mouth after the second bark. Oh and how about the fools in a 30 ft motorhome with two Great Danes, seen that a couple times. Blows my mind.

One does NOT train a dog by hitting it....all you do is make it submissive.
That is NOT trained.
Abuse in any form is NOT the way to handle any situatation...animal or human

My pet peeve is when people have their dogs off-leash in the campground.

"If you have barking or aggressive dogs...leave them home please!" HA HA that's funny. Good luck on that one. Its not going to happen. According to everyone, THEIR dog never barks. Ha ha.

Was in a COE campground about 3 years ago, had our dogs on the leash. A little dog (who thought she was much larger) was not on the leash and came running out of a site right towards my German Shepherd in attack mode. I got tangled in the leashes and fell trying to get the small dog out of my GS's mouth. The lady from the site came out and got her dog loose. I ended up in the ER with what I thought was a broken rib but only torn tissue around the ribs which was probably more painful. The other dog had emergency surgery since my GS nearly killed it. The next morning they were leaving and we spoke with them briefly, the dog was in bad shape. We left because I was in to much pain to enjoy the rest of the long weekend. The COE refunded our cost since we were not at fault.
My one dog does bark at other dogs, but our dogs are ALWAYS leashed. When walking we look out for other dogs and try our best to avoid dog interactions.

Yes and no. Remember, this is a dog, he will not be able to reason on your level, you must reason on his. He will react in his basic instinctual fashion, and that is to obey his alpha, to avoid pain, and to seek satisfaction. If the dog thinks he is the alpha and not a member of your pack, it is about over, this dog will likely never be trained. If your dog thinks you are the alpha, he will be able to enjoy life with you in any civilized situation, to include such places as restaraunts. He will know his place in his safe and secure pack, and he will respect his place, and yours. I took 2 Rottweilers from death row to off-lead in a city environment by making certain they knew I was alpha and they were not, with the help of a professional trainer. I brought my brand new baby daughter home to my first Rotty, and he would wake at night and go into her room to check on her several times a night, leaving her door open and her night light shining into the hall, which would wake me. My second Rotty shared his dog house with a stray cat and a baby skunk. I could take him to work and leave him in the Pilots' room all day and he was fine.
Most dogs are eminantly trainable. And sometimes it takes a little pain and an evil growl to get your point across to one who can't understand English. But then you end up with a dog you can take anywhere, who can really enjoy his life rather than left at home alone because he doesn't know how to act.

OP: I agree...... dog barking and aggressiveness should not happen.
First, it's the owner's fault. I would have knocked on the side of the RV or window opposite of where the dogs were tied up. I would ask them to untie the dogs and bring them in. If that didn't work then go to the camp host. If that didn't work go to the office. Lastly, call the police.
Second, there are also some bad parks. Most parks, especially public ones have rules not to leave the dog tied up. If there's a rule then enforce it.
Third. there are some bad camp hosts. The camp host should have been notified and he should have put an end to it.
If the park or camp host doesn't do anything then the next step should be to call the police.
It's a shame that others would have had to gone through these steps but sometimes that's the only way to get it through to the owners.
We have been camp hosts and we also hate barking and/or aggressive dogs. That wouldn't have happened in our campground. Also, we love well-trained dogs!

I will probably be in the dog house for this comment but that’s the way I feel.
I lost my buddy in June but he was very obedient, it took lots and lots of work and consistency by both my wife and I but it was WELL worth the effort.
He was a big boy, and more than once we were complimented by folks that said they were very impressed by how well he “minded” us.
I wish every dog owner would just invest time in their animal so we wouldn’t have issues like OP talks about.
Just my 2 cents worth.

I ABSOLUTELY agree. It take effort to work with and properly train a dog and most folks just don't want to invest the time.....

This device is on the side marker in the advertising section. My friend has one, and it works. It is harmless to the dog, and also works on neighbors dogs if required.

Our dog barks if left unattended. We don't leave it in the RV. If you wanta travel with a dog just keep it with you if it barks.
IMO it's rude behavior to leave a dog barking in RV and go day trip.

I certainly agree with the barking, especially if the dogs are being ignored and not exercised. Across the street from our house there is a dog that gets very little exercise and attention. Barks all the time, almost a cry at times.
I think dogs are like kids, if kept exercised and have a decent amount of attention they will be happier and quieter.

I must agree, it's the "adults" who cause the problems, and absence of proper supervision and training is revealed in the pets.
One woman on our Canadian Maritimes caravan had a small dog that she regularly left in the MH while on outings. It would bark constantly while she was gone, but she strongly denied it, until another person recorded the barking while videoing the dog at a window. The dogs owner began crying when showed the video and audio recording. Sometimes reality is harsh.
