I'm out of water!

I don't dry camp. We just like the conveniences of full hookups, the spa the pool etc. But that is besides the point. I have asked to borrow things from other campers before, and I have been asked if I have something, which I will graciously offer. Sometimes we even offer to lend an item before the the request is made, seeing that help is needed by a fellow camper.
As for the water hose: What makes you so sure the well water from the tap is pure? Some campgounds maintain water tanks which are "supposed" to be tested regularly. Typically we do not drink the water coming from our holding tank, we cook with it, wash with it, flush with it, but we drink bottled water and make coffee with bottled water. If I did borrow a hose, it would come with much appreciation, however, I would chlorinate my tank at the end of the trip.
Lets get real, I hope the servers at the neighborhood restaurants have good hygiene practices, but I still drink their water and eat the salads.

We dry camp maybe once or twice a year. We fill up the fresh tank on the way in, we normally keep less than a quarter tank fresh on board (weight issues).

We always drink from bottled water that we bring from home. We'll replace the one gallon jugs as needed. Since they have a short life expectancy (< 1 year), we store them in the shower.

I've worked in the hospitality field, servicing equipment. There are few restaurants that we'll eat in. I watched a lobster decompose under an appliance several years ago. That used to be a fav place to eat....
