.....no one ever has muddy shoes or wet jackets, or needs to sweep or wash the floor. Amazing! I have looked at so many floor plans for MH, fivers and trailers. Could probably count one one hand the near the door coat closets or broom cupboards I have seen. Fivers are the most likely to have, it seems. DPs are terrible. A few trailers have one. A pet peeve of mine. I hate piles of jackets with no home and muddy shoes. The Thor ACE actually addresses this directly. Love it! Must have had a designer with a brain involved. What say you?

Always a good plan, but usually there is nowhere near the door for such an amenity, for instance the Palazzo, the Challenger 37GT, the Ventana3433, a few of my faves!

I mounted coat hooks onto the wall next to the door. The floor under them is tiled, so no carpet to damage. We also have an old towel that we put over the door mat when it is rainy to capture the mud and other dirt. The entry area is also tiled. Just needed to improvise a bit.

I stomp my feet on an expanded metal step before entering my MH. Gets the sand out of the shoe groves.

I had one of those, but got tired of having to unload, just to have a place to sit down.

I leave my "outside shoes" on the steps inside the door and slip on my inside shoes to pad around in the MH.

So true, so true...I have to stop in the entryway stairs to take off the dirty shoes.

The "Thor Motor Coach's Motorhome Mud-Room™ w/ access from entry area" is the only mfgt feature to address it that I have seen.

And, newer Outlaws (and other ToyHaulers) have separate side door into the garage, but you might have to unload to enter that way.

My fix is a doormat and large carpet under the awning.

I mounted a brush on the steps outside, And if it's real muddy I'll climb in and turn around, Sit on the floor and remove shoes when I'm still in the "MUD ROOM" (AKA Step Well) and set muddy shoes on a tray or other easily cleaned or disposed of item near the door.

I got a nice baking sheet just big enough to hold my gunboats for like 5 bucks last month.

Yes, our little trailer does have a wee spot for hooks beside the door, which is what I have done. Maybe if I did not live in the Great White North where multiple coats and jackets are needed for a wide temp range I would not be so obsessed with it!

Japanese approach, shoes off, placed neatly just inside the door. As for coats, isn't that what chair backs are for????

Thor ACE 29.2 -

Mudroom in the entry well for shoes/boots - check.

Drawer in the bottom entry step (perfect for a whisk broom and small dust pan) - check.

Double coat closet on the left side of entry well (we use one closet for coats and the other for a full size broom and a Bissell handi-vac) - check

Among the reasons for our choice of MH, it seemed to have been designed for someone to actually use it.

Don't get me wrong, there are design elements of the ACE that could stand some work, but as far as the entry goes they really nailed it.
