Insights on some dealers

Hi
New everything including new blogger! My wife and I will be buying a diesel pusher in 2017. We live in Vancouver BC but we will buy in the US since there are so many more available. Caan anyone comment on particular dealers? Say Parkway RVS of Oregon?

Not sure what DP lines they carry but we bought from Fun Time RV in Tualatin,
OR and would buy from again. We have had 3 different friends buy there as well and none of us regret it. Great sales staff and even better service center. Good luck on your search!

It would be best to zero in on the manufacturer of the motorhome you want to buy then go to the website or call for a list of dealers near you. All dealers do not carry all brands.

Michael, are you looking for new or used?

I looked extensively around the US and Canada in the spring of 2014. Eventually I found what looked like a good coach with a dealer in Florida but upon having it inspected, we cancelled the deal. I then found another coach, a 2005 Newmar Mountain Aire in Texas and, if it lived up tp what the owner was saying, it was a potential our chase.

Unfortunately my DW is not the best at visualizing what a coach would look like simply from pictures. I found a very similar coach with a few extra options at Midtown RV in Penticton, BC but they wanted way to much money, about $49K more than the Texas coach would have cost land here in the Vancouver, BC area. I loaded the wife in the car and we drove out to Penticton for a weekend getaway and to allow my wife to see a similar coach first hand.

As it turned out the Midtown coach has several upgrades and options that the Texas one did not but I was near the top of my budget so I offered then the same price as the Texas rig, figuring there was no way they would drop 30% but I held onto my guns and never budged an inch. In the end we purchased from Midtown for the same price as the Texas rig, plus they through in a number of extras including a 4-year extended warranty.

We have now had a number of dealings with them and they are one of the few dealers I would ever recommend and go back to if I need another coach. You might want to check them out.

Since we live in the same area, feel free to PM me if you want my phone number or want to get together oner a coffee to discuss.

Tks for the info. We are looking for a dp in a high end 15 years old. Brands such as monaco or beaver. Looked on line at rv dealers of Oregon and Parkway in south US. As you know big selection of DPS in US in Canada not so much. Will keep in touch and look into dealers you mentioned.

Most any dealership in the US are the ultimate in professionalism and are looking out for your best interests and will make sure you get the rig that you want.

The information is out there, all you have to do is let it in.

Definitely not so. They just want to make a sale.

OP: Here are some high end used motorhomes to give you an idea of prices:

ALL Pre Owned motorhomes Inventory

What price range are you looking at? Several dealers in the Eugene/Coburg/Junction City OR area.

That hasn't been our experience!

Seems the ultimate professional salesmen (and women) we've run into have:

exactly what we are looking for
which is on their lot right now
happens to be on sale
and if they can find the door keys
and get the batteries charged so they can open the slides
and air out the coach from the smell of fabreeze, mold and bleach

they will show it to us . . . And, oh, by the way, it doesn't have any of the features we stated up front were our MUST HAVE items!
