Installing a Bike Rack

We recently bought a 2017 Crossroads Z1 328sb. The 4" bumper is welded onto the frame. I can't find any specs about how much weight it will take. We lucked out and bought a Thule Parkway XT bike rack, which is a hitch mount rack that will fit into a 1.25" or 2" hitch mount. Can I have a hitch receiver bolted onto our bumper, or is that a bad idea? I'm concerned about whether the weight of the bikes, on top of the spare tire and BBQ mounting bracket that are already there, may be too much weight for the bumper.

Contact Crossroads and ask customer service if the additional weight of your rack and bikes on the bumper is OK or not.

Have a proper hitch welded to the frame. I don't think using that sheet metal bumper is a good idea.

What he said. ^. Those bumpers are marginal when new, and don't improve with age.

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left
