installing firestone air compressor

well the Firestone ride rite air bags and compressor are coming
today, looking to find a place to mount the compressor.
I see on this forum one was put on the frame under the passenger
seat side just behind the tire on his Chev 2500HD truck.
Just wandering if anybody has put it somewhere else?
That spot is right behind the right front tire, I would think when
you turn right the tire would throw what ever rocks, mud, water on
the compressor and maybe damage the air lines.

On my Ford I put it under the floor next to the frame and bolted it through the floor. Been there for 3 years now.
