"installing tile on existing wallpaper"

Have this tile that has a rubber backing with sticky back to do that back of my stove area. Does anyone know how to prepare the wallpaper to have the tile stick. It is not sticking at this time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I have read many posts that say if your coach is stored where it might reach 95 degrees inside, the adhesive will not hold. Just something to think about. Joe

Like Joe I don't have an answer but I am about to remodel the bathroom sink/counter/back splash on mine and have a similar question. I think I'll end up using some sort of ceramic tile and am guessing I'll have to cover the wall paper with a backer board before applying.

Surface prep is a must

Tha wallpaper may have a coating, or at least ink.

Given the heat and other issues in storage one should avoid any peel and stick of any material with mass.

Unless the new tile is special I would suggest using some "fake tile" hardboard, looks like tile but is light and thin, goes on like paneling, strip off as much wallpaper as you can, rough up the rest, liquid nails and you are good to go.

If you want ceramic, then the wonder board securely attached then install tile.

Make a trip to a tile specialty store where they do this as a primary task, you want to insure the correct mastic and grout for the application, drive your MH there and allow their sales/installers to assist you in your choices.
