I have hurd in some states if you drop liability they can call for your tag. My feeling saving $100 or so a year is not worth something getting screwed up and not have coverage.

Thanks to all.

I am currently in the process to request a quote from different insurance companies. This is not so easy. It offered different covers. I believe that 50,000 bodily injury is not enough in today's time.

And now have the added aspect that in some States the DMV required the plates if the coverage droped.

Is that so in Montana?

please excuse our bad english, we are out of practice ...

In NY, the plates need to be surrendered only with the liability dropped during storage. The comp can stay so if a tree falls on it, it is covered. Don't know about anywhere else. I will leave it all on because I hate sitting in the dmv office.
