Insurance rates in South Dakota

We are considering moving our residency to South Dakota (we are full time RV'ers, no stick&brick anywhere). A couple of mailbox agencies are saying that SD vehicle insurance is among the lowest in the nation. I googled and found a chart listing SD as having the 4th or 5th HIGHEST rates in the nation.

Who is right? Anyone with personal experience?

When we were pricing out insurance SD came in lower than TX or FL (which were our 2 other fulltime domicile choices). It was certainly also tons cheaper than CA (which is where we were coming from).

So, our experience was the rates were low.

I'd recommend calling your insurance agent & asking them for a quote. Best way to find out, really.

For us, SD was cheaper than TX and way cheaper than CA

I will second what Nina said here. Cheaper than TX or FL and much cheaper than MA, where we are from.

I changed everything over to SD. The registration and licence was about a third more that Wa State. When I went to change the insurance on my M/H, it was just about $700 more that I paid wiht Wa as home. The insurance on my Toad did go down about $200. So I listened to people and made a bad decision.
Long story short, I changed everything except my mailing address back to Washington
