Hey folks!

I don't know if you guys knew that we have a full featured geographical map resource here provided by Google. If you need to look at a map real quick - check it out.

Vendor Map

If you click on the Satellite View button, zoom in and you'll get a Google Earth display. Remarkably the map is only about a 12 to 18 months old.

I looked at my house and we must not have been home at the time because the MH is not on its pad.

The satellite view of our rural River property is at least 2 1/2 years old as I see an RV next door that was removed after a flood in March of '09....

That's the same map you get at Google Maps . Except at the google map site you can usually get a street view also. The street view and overhead map are not the same time frame.
Yahoo maps http://maps.yahoo.com/ will show the same, but not as close. Bing, http://www.bing.com/maps/?mkt=en-us does a nice job also.

Do you think that some of the overlays might be dated? I have some shrubs that I put in back in 2009 and those show up in the picture. Maybe I was a little optimistic. I believe that we have had those shrubs for almost 3 years.

Yes that's what this map is. I believe that a lot of Google technology is in place here including the maps. If you zoom in on the map you can go down to street level.

The view of our house had to be done sometime between September and October of 2010 because our trailer is there with our Expedition hooked up to it.

Cool!

I remember not that long ago that when I looked at Google Earth, our lot was still completely tree covered. I do recall seeing a release of GE that showed our motorhome on the pad. This release shows no MH on the pad. In Sept-Oct 2010 I was out at Ocean Lakes for an iRV2 rally.

The view of our place was btwn 5/15 and 7/15. It shows the boat parked behind the RV which was during that time frame.

The map I saw was older than the GE map because FE does not show any shrubs on my property PLUS my motorhome is parked in the yard. One thing I can tell is that the shot was taken in the morning due to the shadow pattern on the surface of my pool.

I bet they stitch different time frame maps together. What do you think?

They must. The view of our property shows 4 bushes along our front walk. I removed 1 of them at least 2 summers ago (if not 3).

Can you still get street views on Google Earth? Apparently I have lost them or something. I used them a lot when traveling to determine if we could get into and out of some parking lots and streets.
