We purchased our very first rig in August of this year, 2015 Thor Axis. It was love at first sight. We have been out on three trips so far, 28 days, and at the end of each one my wife cries as we drive away in our car, leaving the rig in storage. We love it so much we are looking at ways to move up our retirement date and hit the road full time. My wife is counting the days!!!

Since my last update I have spent a total of 32 days living/sleeping in our motorhome in the driveway. I have a very nice home but like another poster said, it just doesn't enthuse me any more. I am more comfortable in my motorhome whether its sleeping or watching tv. I can also relate to the running out of things to mod theory. I am already worrying about not having anything to ad and eagerly await the day to move up to a DP. I keep threatening to do it and I'm sure I will sooner than later. Back out to the motorhome I go!!

We don't even own one yet and I'm already addicted. My DW? Not so much, but she took a huge leap toward addiction when we went and toured two 40' Jayco 5ers a couple weekends back. Once we actually own one and we're out and about, I'm pretty sure the bug will bite her as hard as it bit me.

I'm on this site and a dozen sites like it every night. I explore places to go and how to get there. I research solar power, battery setups and generators mostly because I expect we'll be boondocking it a lot of the time. I watch all the videos on YouTube about how to do this, how not to do that, and what it's like to be on the road. And that's just how I warm up.

We've already bought our downsized "retirement" house... now we just gotta sell this one. When we do, the first check we're writing is for a truck and a rig - in that order. We've got our eyes on a 2012 truck-and-trailer package deal that we really love, and it's local to us - so hard not to drive by it every night and dream. Out loud I tell everyone that we'll probably wait until next winter for the best off-season deals, but honestly I don't think I'll be able to wait that long once that money is burning a hole in my pocket.

Addicted? Yeah, I totally get that.

Before I went full time I spent many an hour just sitting in my driveway and dreaming.
