for us
we took the msrp or dealer price on the window
and divided in half and started there for negotiating
on the first fiver in 1996, worked out good for us
then in 2001 i did it again on a tt
in 08 it was almost half off the dealer price
on the tuscany
never hurts to ask and be ready
i have always been pre-aproved before any venture
so you know your wallet can back up your deal unless your paying cash
you would be surprised at how much wiggle is in these prices
you get a fair deal and the dealer makes some money to
they have bills to pay as well
