I was looking at receiver mount cargo carriers on ebay today and came across this one.

I've seen these things on the back of vehicles and RV's dozens if not hundreds of times, but I've never seen one with wheels/casters. I like the idea. We're planning on getting a receiver hitch cargo carrier this year that we'll use for firewood and other things. For us, what a great way to get the firewood from storage to the fire ring without carrying it pieces at a time.

How would one remove the loaded carrier from the receiver or get the stinger into the receiver? I don't fully understand the operation.

I really love this idea, but i would rather have actually tires so it is more all terrian and quiet.

But i am unsure where i would need a cart thatbig, half that size would be very useful!

The stinger is folded up in the picture. It folds down to insert into the receiver. Once it's in the receiver it will fold upright out of the way like other carriers. It would definately be a 2 person operation getting it in and out of the receiver.

I think the size, if I remember correctly is 20" X 60". slightly less than 2' x 5'. I was thinking the same thing on wheels. I'm not sure if I'm gonna get one like this or get another one and mount some wheels to it and just use a piece of rope to pull it Harbor freight has 8" pneumatic wheels in pivoting caster or fixed position. The airless rubber wheelbarrow wheels would work well too, but I've never seen them in a caster, only as replacement wheels for wheelbarrows.

You are missing the point. You could get this and then permanently mount the DWs Throne onto the platform so that you could pull her around.

Somewhat like Cleopatra.

Have had a "Hitch-a-haul" type carrier like that (and still do ) from way back when... let's see, first used on my nice 89 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 limited...

Mine didn't have the casters/wheels, but might have been a nice addition when it came time to move it around...

back then, I just picked it up, stood it on end and off we went, 20 years later - not so much

I had lot's of accessories for mine, but moved on to a utility trailer with a ramp that's much easier on me and carries a lot more 'stuff'
