It is 2017. Surely something better than Dicor

With the Chinese about to land a man on Mars and with the 21st Century half gone, I'm wondering if there is a better product out there than Dicor. Seems to be carefully designed to lose all elasticity after 11 months and then it cracks wide open so making a major contribution to the constant complaints regarding water penetration and frame and plywood failures.

I can't believe that this product is the ultimate sealant for rubber roofs/cap joints so I wonder if anyone has come up with something considerably better.

My trailer is 10 years old and it is better than new. I have had no problems with the self leveling Dicor.

Same here with the Dicor. If yours is cracking/failing, then you need to figure out why or plan on checking and recaulking every 10.5 months. I just inspected and recoated our 5ers seams in November after 3 full seasons just because I could but not that there were any sealant failures. Be aware that the original RV manufacturer may have used a lesser product and any Dicor over it will be affected. Or that you are trying to put it over a roof dressing like .303

For what it's worth the 21st century is less than 17% gone. And that has nothing to do with how well Dicor works. Just recalled my 7 year old roof last year. You may be experiencing a prep problem prior to installation.

I have no reason whatsoever to use anything other than Dicor.

Maybe I didn't read the label carefully enough. Does the fine print say "Caution - for indoor use only!!!" or "Don't expose to the sun or severe degradation will result"

You want something that will last 20+ years? There is a product called dega-seal pro -2000 sealant. It is a white roofing caulk that is used mostly on aluminum roofover systems for mobile homes and also can be used on fiberglass and tpo.Area must be clean, before applying,BUT BE WARNED, YOU WILL WORK YOUR BUTT OFF TO REMOVE A VENT OR ANYTHING SEALED WITH THIS PRODUCT. The purpose of a product like dicor is for easy removal when necessary. On my tpo, I always use cleaner, then the primer to clean the old sealant, then apply cover coat of dicor.
