I'm shopping auxiliary jacks to support our one slide out. We're full time campground people and I've noted a bit of sag, especially when someone sleeps in the couch- bed. We have a Newmar Mt. Aire
gasser. I see three different types of jacks, all about 70 dollars for a pair.
What distinguishes one from another? Recommendations?

I would get the one that the easiest to use and store they all do the same job, when you get a set just place them snug don't try t hold the weight on the slide on them if you crank them too much it will push the top in ward and the seal will push away from the inside could let water in.

I think you will find that Newmar specifically says not to use them due to the possibility of damaging the slide or frame.

What do you mean by "full time CG people?" Are you full timers that move or do you stay in it permanently in one spot? Either way, if you still have tires inflated, do not get supports for your slides. If you have a flat and the coach settles, it will do serious structural damage to the frame and body.

Those things are bad ideas unless you completely block the frame and take all of the weight off the tires. But you still take a chance on one end or side settling and the slide will not move relative to the rest of the RV.

I use them on the dining sofa side, The landing gear in the front,
and the scissor jacks in the back more or less hold the trailer up.
I had a flat tire and didn't know I had it, until I let the scissor
jack down to leave.
The slide jacks are the first thing I take off when I get ready to
leave.
That slide hangs out 38'' I think a little support doesn't hurt.

Maybe you should have your slide checked out. If it's sagging, something wrong.

My thought as well - something is structurally wrong if the side is sagging. It should not be necessary to add support.

We are parked so that the slide clears the utility box by a quarter inch. There's no way to avoid it.When a guest began using the sofa bed, the slide dropped that quarter inch and now sits, without ding or damage, on the box. I'm not easy about that, but think I'll leave it alone for now. Our CG was built over boggy ground. We've been here for three years while my wife deals with health issues. We swap sites with our neighbor about every eighteen months. I'll test the slide after raising it off the ute box with our jacks. Thanks!
