Jensen Radio

Hi, Just replaced my dead Jensen 212 model.
Bought a JRV 9000R. Installed yesterday and so far it is super. Has a Nav system. Haven't gone and distance yet. More later.

How was installation? How has it been working for you? Did you use the 212 to 9000 Harness?

Hi, install was smooth. Had a friend from a radio shop do it. Used a harness Jensen sells. It adapts to the in dash wires. One large plug that powered the 212. He ran a wire under the dash to a gps antenna provided with the 9000.

Thanks for the info! Just bought the harness. Asked an electrician friend if worth splicing 18 wires or harness for $50. He said he would do it if it was his but knowing my talent, he said get the harness. If you have an issue you would take forever to trace it down. Plus I know I would take 3 or 4 times as long. Anyone know for sure where to hook up pink wire ( parking brake for videos). I don't plan on ever watching videos on it. TV is over my shoulder. Or can I leave it and everything else will work.
Also a green wire that is labeled "reverse+". Any idea where that goes and why. Not part of harness.
Thanks.

Not a bad install and everything works with wires to spare. The guy from Jensen doesn't know how my rear camera is working in reverse without the green and white wire connected.

Martin fan, sorry. Got rid of RV late last year. It was working great at the time. Sorry couldn't have been more help.

Jensen radio

Been using the new model 9000 since last summer. Nice feature is the nav feature. I’d get rid of the 211.

I've got this unit. Unfortunately it's mounted in a straight dash making it difficult to safely use the backup and turn signal cameras. I did not get Nav since I use Garmin.

This is a criticism of similar units also. I displike not having buttons. It's so difficult to find all the controls and operate them safely while driving using touch screens. Also don't like the Jensen function to change satelite radio channels. First you have to select Preset, then select which preset. Very cumbersome.
