Why would you close down a thread that alerts potential customers to poor or illegal business practice? I would appreciate knowing and I'm sure most others would also when an RV dealer like McMahons does not follow the state laws or their contract. Just really wondering whats going on here.

I would suspect that the reasons for that are as follows:

a) a particular business may advertise on this site
b) as a whole, the business may be doing a good job of providing their paticular service or parts, etc.
c) to label any business as one others need to avoid due to one customers bad exprience is just not a fair thing to do.

I run an auto repair business, and one thing I have learned is....there will always be a customer that you just can't satisfy, for whatever reasons
And.....there will always be a particular vehicle that just gives 'fits' to get the repairs done quickly and properly, and within the estimate.

There will come a time in some repairs that you just have to say "enough".
Those are the ones that no matter which way you turn, everything goes wrong.

I have come to believe that those are due to the owner's having "bad luck", and now "I" have to be a part of it. You just wish you had never started the job, and that they had gone somewhere else.

Losing $$$ on a repair is just not condusive to a successful business.

Sometimes it is and others you just have to cut your losses and move on.

I have not bad mouthed slandered or said anything unprofessional. I have only spoken about the events that have or have not taken place. This is not about bad luck or a customer they just cannot make happy. Just abide by the contract and the state laws and it will all be fine. They just need to act in a business like manner and return calls and fullfil the agreement. If I was in the market for an RV or in search of a dealer to consign a RV with I would appreciate knowing others experience, would'nt you.

Interesting... I was going to reply that this siter has always let such threads run their course if no slander or bashing was involved...

Then I read your other thread.

Gotta say I'm clueless. Maybe McMahons is a sponsor? IRV2 is corporate owned these days, a for profit entity.

....the Community Administrator stated "I'm going to close this thread since it seems to be a reoccurring business practice of McMahon's not to pay outstanding loans on RV's taken in trade and has been discussed at length in the other thread. The OP has stated that he has hired an attorney so there's not much more we can offer."

IMHO I don't agree with this logic as there are hundreds of threads that hash over the same issue over and over and over and they are never closed!

Commenting on an issue that is in litigation could make you a potential witness in a trial. Not sure what the rationale was on that thread, but I can see why it might be a problem. i.e. jurors and adverse publicity for the party being sued.

Folks,
This thread is Closed. Discussion of Moderator actions is against the rules which makes this thread an invalid topic for discussion.

To answer the OP's question. Your thread was closed because your issue was discussed at length in another thread. Your thread discussed the same problem with the same dealer and the other thread is still open.
