Just curious

Not "new" any more, but I have a question for long time members. Since I joined this site (short two months ago), I am noticing very high volume of new members coming to the site daily. Was this always like that, or more and more people are buying RVs?

Seems like there are dozens of new members all across the country every day.

If this is in the wrong section, please move it. Was not sure where to post this.

That's the fact, however.......these people are not long time RVers, "discovering" this site. They are "new owners", "first time buyers", and such.

Question still stands,.......new RV owners appearing daily,....was it always like this, or it's some kind of new trend (people buying more RVs than ever).

I don't believe this is a new trend, the site is and has had a good amount of new members for quite some time. Perhaps due to the way in which it has operated. The staff has worked hard to make it a RV friendly site offering as much help as possible to new members as well as older members. What most members don't often see is the work that is done by the staff to make this site enjoyable by all people who have a interest in the RV lifestyle. Many hours are done by these people who are not paid, all done because of the love of the lifestyle, and the willingness to help others. The effort to help anyone who may have issues getting starting in this lifestyle, trying to keep the site a friendly one, trying not to have anything that offends another RVer posted. In short my feeling is that due to the commitment of these people the site has expanded to what it is today, and it will continue to do so as more new members join and welcomed into the lifestyle. There is so much more but in short I think you can and will see as the time passes what the reason is for the new member numbers. Enjoy the site and have safe travels.

I have been reading more and more people are discovering RVing.

I believe the Baby Boomers are retiring in great numbers and are still very active and mobile.

I believe loans are still affordable.

Gas prices have been at an all time low.

Just a thought...and iRV2 is the best....I really enjoy it, have some fun reading, and have learned so much.

There have always been a lot of new members. This is probably the best forum for RVers, and as the word get out more new RVers are finding out about this site.

I believe a lot of people feel like you get a lot of bang for the buck in RVing. With lower fuel costs cheap loan rates and the desire to stay in the USA and discover what treasures truly lie here. The surge is the result.

I agree with others, this is the best RV related forum. It seems like the New Member section Has always been pretty active.

As others have said, we always have new members - to the tune of 50-100 daily, depending on the season. They find their way here usually when researching preparing to buy, or to ask a question when they've got a problem.

However, only a tiny fraction of a fraction of a percent of those participate daily & regularly for the long term. The vast majority are registrations who never post....just sort the members list by number of posts.

For those of us in it for the long haul, iRV2 is by far the best RV-ing forum out there.

To answer one of your questions about are more people buying RV's. If the numbers at other dealerships are like ours, then yes, it appears more people are buying them. We seem to get busier every month, and this month so far is no different.

I agree that this site is the best one out there, and I recommend it to our new buyers all the time.

I hate to admit that I forgot to update my CC info on Paypal and am not a "supporter" right now, but will correct that shortly. Well worth the minimal amount of money.

We stopped by Lazydays in Florida for a class/seminar on travel planning and RV apps,
Irv2 was listed in the information.

Probably just that winter is fading and people are looking around at the possibility of escaping.

In my long experience in online RV groups of all sorts, this time of year always swells the ranks as new buyers look for help, previous owners upgrade, and people just plain start thinking about summer camping and questions come to mind.

Our exp would indicate more folks buying rv's.
We are in our mid 50's, bought a 40' coach and are wondering what we want to do the rest of our life.
So we come here to help keep the coach running and where the heck we are going next!

Yes, I think the economy finally allowed people to live their dreams.
