I don't do face book, twitter or any of that stuff but have kind of got hooked on this forum.

The other day my wife was telling my youngest daughter (14) that dad was hooked on this forum. She asked what's a forum. My oldest daughter (17) said, "it's face book for old people and their status updates are all about their motor homes".

I thought it was pretty witty.

It's a perfect example of how the younger crowd thinks!

She probably feels bad for you since you don't have hundreds of (friends?) like she does!

Hey I checked you profile and noticed that don't have any friends so I befriended you. Now you can tell your daughter that you have a friend!

Just having a RV makes you an old fart in the youngsters eyes. But you're not the only one hooked on this site...

The advantage to Facebook is you actually KNOW who you are dealing with...here, not so much. This forum is full of anonymous know it alls, just like any other forum, that you have no control over. With social networks YOU control who you deal with. It's a much preferred way for me and besides, I can keep track of my kids and grand-kids all over the country on a daily basis. Much easier than a long phone call that I have never been very good at.

BTW, I have motorcycle and bicycle forums that I have participated in for years and developed "friends" with...they are also my Facebook friends in a much more casual arena than this or any other forum.

Missus and I both got a good chuckle out of the young lady's response.

I have a FB account. Don't use it all that often as most of it just isn't all that important to me. People posting stuff like; it sunny here, it's cold here, went to the grocery store today.. Who cares. DW loves FB. I look at mine about once a month. Other than keeping track of distant friends I find FB to be a waste of time.

Here (iRV2) I find information that allows me to repair my MH, service it properly, find good CGs, etc... Worthwhile reading

If you really want to see a vicious, know it all forum, try some of the EMT/EMS forums, holy crap

DW thinks I'm addicted to all of my Rv forums. I probably am, but like sdennislee, I find all sorts of good information here. Yesterday I deactivated my FB account because I sometimes would go a week or more without checking it. I finally realized that it simply wasn't of value to me.

See... I'm not the only one who doesn't care for FB but loves this forum! So be it if all my "status updates" are about my Moho. I can't wait to read some if this to my daughter. To bad I don't know how to send it to her FB account. Haha;-)

I'll have you know that when I say something , you can make book on it being the facts.
