Justice Clarence Thomas RVer

This may be old hat information to many of you. I just ran across this and am very impressed that Justice Thomas, who I admire greatly, is a fellow RVer.

On the Road Again, With Clarence and Ginny - Law Blog - WSJ

I hope we meet up with him and his wife some day on the road. The more I read about him, the more I like him.

Well, I should have run a search on this before posting. I did it backwards. I didn't realize this was discussed in 2009.

Sorry. But there may be others who might enjoy knowing this who have joined since then.

Justice Thomas

Two years ago we were camping in Hershey, Pa. A nice, but older, Provost pulls up on our driver's side. Didn't pay too much attention to them. The next day I was doing some work on that side of the M/H and my neighbor was sitting at the picnic table. We were making small talk and I introduced myself to him as "Joe" and he introduced himself to me as "Clarence". When we shook hands I was impressed with the fact that I was talking to a very strong (physically and educated) man. Very personal nice guy. Interesting to talk to. He introduced me to his son and we small talked. I knew then who he was but never questioned him about it. We talked about RV's and the park. The next day I saw him at the park, said "Hello, Clarence," and he greeted me. No big deal and we went our separate way.

The article takes Mrs. Thomas to task for the pronunciation of Prevost. She pronounced it "Pra Vo", which if you were speaking French, would be correct.

I guess if you can afford one, you can pronounce it any way you want.
Maybe they were in cajun country ?

It's also pronounced "S W E E T".

I have read his book and his life story is very uplifting. In his early years, he spoke only Gullah (an old African slave language) and then moved into his grandparents house who were very strict. He worked extremely hard and came far in life. Glad to hear he has stayed at Wal-Mart hundreds of times. It's his wife's favorite place.

I have read a awful lot about his abortion opinions, affirmative action, and all sorts of other items, but this is about his RV'ing. I love that he like to stay at Wal-Mart and his story from nothing to something is a great example of the greatness of our country.

Should be granted a "Walmart Super Camper Emeritus" award and given a hand lettered calligraphic scrolled copy of that thread whenever it finishes; if it ever finishes. I see they are headed for 2000 replies now.

So this comment was about his RVing...And him becoming something great is about his Walmart parking...Give me a break...This thread and all threads are about opinions.
