Appears this started with a tire blow out. Good reminder to check out tires condition and date of manufacture.

Does anyone know the age, make and model of the MH involved? How about the age of the tire that blew?

This is a sad thing that happened but I am curious why some of you point to the tire that blew out. How does anyone know that was the cause? It is possible that the driver fell asleep at the wheel or had a medical condition happen. I saw many years ago where a driver fell asleep and went into the center median and hit something and 4 people were killed in the coach. A blowout does not always mean certain death and are usually very easy to control.

That is the saddest story I've read on here. Such a tragedy.

If you look on the ground you will see the right wall of the motorhome. I don't believe the appliances were ejected. A motorhome will burn through the roof and end caps. There is nothing to hold the sidewall up and it falls out along with all the things attached to it. ( stove, sink. cabinets, furnace, etc.)

I agree with MR D. It looks like the front hit the concrete sign support. As he said the generator went into the fuel tank.

May the couple rest in peace and deepest condolences to their families and friends!
PS: If the cause of the accident is determined, it might benefit all to know.

All drivers should and need to know what to do when a front tire blows.

I like others have upgraded our RVs steering with Safe T Plus which makes it easier to control steering in the even of a blow-out.

Thnx for the tire blow out video. That was news to me, the statement to accelerate when you have a flat!

Sad story indeed! Heartfelt....

The news report stated it was the right tire which will cause you to loose control of the steering.

Not always as the video shows.

How terrible this is.......May they Rest in Peace together.

Just remember when the tire blows the RV will start to tilt to the side with the blown tire, it will feel like it's going to tip over, to straighten it out, hit the gas and not the break. Hitting the gas will pull the momentum back and center the tilt, you can then slowly come to a safe stop. (tire blows, hit gas)
