Keyless Entry

can anybody recommend which keyless Entry is best
KE1701BH or AKE-5BH
We are brand new to the RV world and just purchased a 2005 Mountain Aire and need to replace the keyless Entry Panel

Gregg, I would find out the model of the keyless entry that you have, and try to get the same one or at least one that is known to be compatible. Other components, such as the electric locks, need to be compatible.

You should be able to remove the old unit and find a model number on it.

I think the Mfg was Essex of Carpenteria Ca. I replaced mine 3 times visiting the factory twice. Warranty was 3 years.

KE 1701 RH is the model Essex provided me on the last exchange. It is superior to earlier models and modified for M/H usage.

Four years ago I went to my local Home Hardware store and purchase a Weiser Keyless house entry door lock. It operate on 4 AA battery and last the year, plus it come with a set of keys if ever the Key pad would not work. In four years I never had to use the key and it still work fine, just replace the battery one in the spring and I good until next spring.
