I need to find a flagpole and holder to mount on my TT ladder, any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated. We will be flying two or three 3 X 5 poly flags.

CW has one for $70 bucks maybe on sale this month, snaps on brackets screwed to ladder.

I use a piece of PVC pipe held to the ladder with wire ties. Works great, it's adjustable and it's cheap

Floyd, interesting idea, and we have a lot of PVC around our shop! how do you hold the flags onto the PVC?

I, to, built a flagpole out of PVC pipe - I drilled some holes through the pipe and installed 2 eyebolts to match the grommets on the flag. Then I used some small snaprings to hook the flag to the pole. To mount the pole to my ladder I got some PVC butt connectors that were slightly larger than the pole, so that the pole slides into them and clamped them onto the ladder. The bottom one has the bottom end closed off with a reducer so the pole sits in it instead of sliding through.

To fly the flag I simply climb the ladder high enough to drop the pole through the top mount and into the bottom mount. Takes literally seconds to get the flag flying, or to remove it, and cost me next to nothing!

I just got a piece of PVC a little bigger then the flag pole, put an end cap on the bottom with a couple of drain holes for rain and drop the pole into the pipe. When ready to leave pull it out, roll up the flag and by that time your wife should have the tanks dumped, hoses stored, electric cord stored and you ready to roll.

When I go to the races here is what I have made up.

<UL TYPE=SQUARE><LI>2' length of 1.5" PVC. One end cut into a point to drive into the ground. This serve as a base for the flag pole.<LI>1" cast pipe. I use 6' lengths with couplers to join multiple lengths together.<LI>3 1" conduit standoffs. One end bolts to my trailer ladder mounts (this end is 3/4" if I remember correctly). The 1" end clamps around the pipe.<LI>My flag pole is like a ships mast (cross). I fly a NASCAR flag on top and 3 driver flags under the NASCAR flag.<LI>I drilled holes where needed and mounted small eyebolts. Using snaphooks, I clip the flags to the pole using these eyebolts.[/list]
Never had a problem.

OK, the pole and holder finally arrived today, I'll try them this weekend and take a couple of photos, then get the roll developed..wife says I am real good at taking pictures bu lousy at remembering to get them developed!
Anyway, I'll post then they come back! And thanks to all for the suggestions!
