Verify elsewhere? Do you thing the federal Dept of Justice, califrnia Attorney General is sufficient. First the chinese try to [poison us with lousy food from china, Then they kill our dogs with poisoned chicken Jerky, Next they sell us wallboard with harmful chemicals in it so people have to actually tear it all out and now Lumber Liquidators is selling chinese laminate where the chinese admit does not pass Cal code, which will be USA code next year all so corporations can save a few pennies.

Fed food admin even is allowing chicken to be processed in china and brought into US WITHOUT label it from china.

You are aware, CARB 2 standards only apply to products manufactured and sold in California? CBS expanded the regulation to cover the entire country, fair reporting?

Actually quite a bit different issue. Some brand new homes with Chinese drywall even had to be torn down.
Quote:
Chinese drywall refers to drywall imported from China (from approximately 2001 to 2007) which
contains extraneous metals and minerals, such as sulfur, strontium and iron. Under certain
environmental conditions (typically warm, humid climates), the drywall will emit sulfur gasses. These
gasses create a noxious odor and corrode copper and other metal surfaces, which can damage one's
air conditioner, electrical wiring, copper plumbing, appliances and electronics. Chinese drywall can
also cause adverse health effects, which are primarily irritant and temporary in nature. Long term
health effects are unknown.
Quote:
According to Lawrence Berkley
National Laboratories, Chinese drywall can emit hydrogen sulfide up to 100 times greater than non-
Chinese produced drywall. Hydrogen sulfide is a hazardous gas which, in high concentrations, can be
fatal.

That is what this is all about. Speculators looking to drive stock price down, buy low, then when this all blows over sell high. Plus those same speculators filed suit, initiating all this. Wall Street, blah. No wonder they fight regulation so hard.

they were also using lumber that has been cut illegally and by giving a low price for the bootlegged wood they get to sell at a low price so the wood can be bought at a low price.

The folks that shorted the stock at $102, could care less if it ever goes back up!
If they have to start replacing floors in CA, bankruptcy is not far behind. IMHO.

After 60 Minutes aired, it was reported, the situation was much worse than originally thought. That probably is what your wife saw. I agree, Joe, I don't want this product anywhere near my family or pets.

Thanks for the report, Joe. When you recently replaced the floors in your moho, did you use this crap? If so, what are your plans now?

Not asbestos but sulphur. In the mid 2000s, at the height of the housing boom boat loads of drywall from the Far East came in. Some of it had elevated levels of sulphur.

No, I used a premium vinyl tile, 12" squares.
