Has anyone tried these to make the suction cups hold?

I have found in my car at least that the sticky bases for the suction cups get gooey after the car sits in the hot sun. Once that happens it slips all over and actually separates.

I finally removed the sticky gooey mess and since my car dash is fairly smooth I purchased a RAM suction mount and adapted that to a base that holds my TPMS while in the car. It can also hold my Samsung phone or my Garmin nuvi 465-LMT GPS that I use in my car.

The RAM suction mount holds nicely to my smooth dash.

After taking out the screen on my GPS because of the suction cups giving out once too many times I put some screws through mine.

I got tired on glues and suction cups that don't hold, so I am going to cave in and use screws. Got this screw-in adapter from Rand McNally and I will install it next week. It should fit all RM units, as it uses your present mount and just replaces the suction cup portion of your mount. With four screws through the dash, it will not be going anyplace. Yes, I HATE making holes but the suction cup made marks already and I am tired, so tired of fighting with suction cups.

I heated it initially with a hair dryer, then finally, very carefully on the stove top over a burner. I finally got it the correct angle, sanded the corners and edges, then pasted it to the dash with double stick foam tape. It works pretty good!
I did a similar thing for my Garmin. I used velcro on the back and on the bottom of the Garmin to affix to the Plexiglas. I actually used self tapping screw to hold the plexi in place after first trying velcro which was not strong enough. Also have my video displays on each side.
the large garmin fits in place and is very secure. Easy in and out. inline with travel and quick glance keeps eyes on road.

The bad News ..... I don't remember who manufactured it but they were in the RV accessory aisle of a DIY store here in town.
My GPS came with the extra adhesive mount. A lot of them did. I threw mine away as I would never use it. There are probably people on the site that have one stuck in a drawer some where.
You could make one very easy.

Thank you for that it'll make one less problem for me.

That doesn't say it's compatible with the RVND series. Did you confirm with them that it is?
