Last week camper adventure

Well after many outings with our TT I experienced one of my two fears (getting a flat tire and the slides not moving). We were on our way to Watkins Glen when 21 miles into our trip we blew a right front tire. No warning at all. It did some damage to the underside of the TT, broke a running light and severed the propane line. Rather than disappoint the grand kids, we pushed on. The next morning I found a great tire store in Bath, NY, All Seasons Tire. Matt was super, I highly recommend then. When we got back the tire minder was telling me the right rear was going down. We put air in it and a few hours later the next morning the tire minder said it was losing air. We jacked up the TT and sur enough found some damage from the other tire. Off I go again to see Matt. When I got home, I noticed the tire minder was telling me the new right tire was low on air. As luck would have it, I ran over a screw. The point of all this is there have been lots of discussions about pressure monitors. They are totally worth it. Also with my Navy background I tend to have backups to backups. I got to use them all on this trip. The trailer aid was a big help in changing the tire on the road and carrying an air compressor was also good.

WOW! Warren, you sure had your plate full that day!

We pulled 5ers for 10 years before getting the MH. One thing I learned, the hard way, was to run the tire pressures at the maximum pressure indicated on the sidewall! Once I started doing that I never had any more problems!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Yes, I agree, we always keep the pressure up on the tires.
