If you need to LEAVE a gun there is really only one place (Two flavors) where you can leave it. (Other than friend/family)
One is a licensed gun dealer (new/retail)
The other is a pawn shop licensed to deal in firearms.
in both cases make sure you get a clear storage agreement.
NOTE: Leaving with friends/family.. IS RISKY.

The only time I've ever had to show I was armed was when I was in the RV (in Wyoming), that's one of the places you are most vulnerable.
I have concealed permits in WA, OR and UT btw.

Are you guys sure he can pawn a gun in a pawn shop if he is from out of state? For some reason I seem to recall there is something to do with must live in state you purchase or pawn. May be a retrieval problem also (again out of state problem)
