Oregon, Wa and CA residents, Do not get your hopes up. Gas in these areas are generally up and going up. Even after holiday weekend. Do not expect the prices to come down before the oil people devise another excuse to up the price more.

New excuses have to be forth coming. The old excuse of refinery fire in Wa is old enough now to be worn out. Excuses of closed refineries in Ca also is worn out. They will figure out another ploy before Xmas days I assume.

Wayne,

That refinery fire was in a BP refinery just up the road from me. They normally refine 350,000 barrels of crude a day. That much out of the supply chain causes shortages that have to be made up some way. They have been bringing in finished product by tanker to try and keep up with the demand. That increases the cost. The hope is that they will complete their startup this weekend after being down for almost three months. Diesel price is falling fast. Some outlets down 60 cents this week and gas is starting down.

Jim

$3.65.9 in New Mexico yesterday. $3.34.9 in Texas today. Oil will continue down until the election. Enjoy it while you can. Next year who knows? I for one WILL NOT STOP RV'n.

Thanks Jauguston for that update. Hope its true. No relief yet in Oregon at all.
4.21 prices and higher most places, and no better in Wa state either. It'd be nice if oil people would do some PR work and let the public know of their intent. Guessing the prices daily is not what I get out of bed for. I fear that someday all of us will go to bed at say 5.00/gal and wake up suddenly to 9.50/gal. It could happen with the attitudes of the oil groups. Their price controls are so wonderful/

We're just not seeing any spike in gasoline prices on South Carolina's Grand Strand. I paid $3.19 and so far it looks like there's more room for the price of fuel to go even lower considering that I have never seen fuel become less expensive going into a major Holiday.

Here,s a link to the Gas Buddy USA averages. Looks like the west coast is paying more than most of the country. USA National Gas Price Heat Map - GasBuddy.com

Gas prices continue to drift down up here at the end of Lake Superior, $3.59 to $3.64. 3/4" of rain overnight added to the 3" Wednesday and Thursday. More to come later today. Makes me think we live around the Seattle area.

Yep. By election day, gas will be below $3 per gallon in most of the US. Guess who will take credit?

Wish the south end of Lake Michigan would get some of that...
