I have one of the original ones, without the switch. I took my mod a big step further. I bought a 12V power supply that has settings for several different output voltages, including the 3 volts that the LevelMate Pro needs. The 12V input comes from the trailer house batteries and so there isn't even a watch type battery installed in mine. The output from the power supply is then run to a simple off/on switch and from there, into the LM Pro. I had a friend who is an electronics guy, solder a couple of leads off of the battery holder and that is then hooked up to the 3 volt source from the output of the power supply. Of course, I put all of this into a plastic hobby work box so that it was all neat and tidy. When I get ready to leave for a trip, I simply turn the switch on which powers up the levelmate and I use it when I arrive to level the trailer.
