Hi all,

I have a 33' Travel Supreme, and am getting ready to re-seal the roof... I have a question about quantity of sealant needed.

I have read several times that altho Dicor RECOMMENDS (for ex) 4 gallons of their product, actual users can do fine with half of that (2 gals).

Is that the case also with the Liquid RV Roof ? They make it appear I'd need FIVE gallons ~ is their spread rate truly that much less ?

Any of you have experience with Liquid Roof, and can give me advice on this ?

We did our 38' DutchStar twice with 7 gals of Liquid Roof.

It goes on fairly thick.. its like a heavy duty rubber membrane when dry. This is NOT 'mobile home roof coating' that basically goes on like paint.

I used the rubber roof type coating and its not the easiest thing to put on but, not difficult, just time consuming...had a 28 foot motor home them...only took me 1 gallon...its warranteed longer than the stuff you get at campers world too....I think five years...I have a 34 foot now and plan on purchasing 2 gallons for it...cost is about $80.00 a gallon...Use some plastic drop clothes ( cheapo ones ) and painters tape around the edges...works great and easy to remove when your done...One thing I do remember is that you can stop anywhere and begin again another time..

APACE....my 1996 Bounder took almost all of the 4 gallons in the can to complete the task. I mixed my batches in tin paint cans and applied thinly at first. When I was confident of the coverage I applied thickly. I used almost all the remaining coating to go back and recover the first 1/3 of my project to get the best coverage possible. Completed the project in October 2012

If you use less than the manufacturer says, you are probably spreading it thinner than they recommend. Of course, they like it thick - they sell more material that way!

Gary: I am very pleased thus far with the coating. It feels very durable and seems to have added life to my EDPM roof membrane. I will be replacing the
roof in the next few years and any bad wood....but getting several more years is all too important to my wallet at this time.

This is just for the rubber roofs isn't it? I don't think you should put it on fiberglass roofs right? Has anyone got pictures of the finished product?
