What goes up must come down......Any neighbors like to shoot on new years eve ?
Or maybe hunting in the area you were in ?
Looks like a .223 maybe.... Best put some filler in that hole.

Wasn't leaking that I could tell. Not sure how long it had been there. Probably some chucklehead firing into the air on New Years or 4th of July. They don't realize that the bullet has to come down somewhere. Better off in my RV roof than someones head I guess.

Yeah, we do hear gunfire every once in awhile. Never gave it a thought till now. Filled the hole with Dicor.

I've always heard of that happening, but it's kind of scary to see it!

Had a drunk start shooting arrows straight up one time while swimming at an old quarry when I was a teen. Tried my best to crawl under my car till he got bored and quit.

Not my RV but I live off grid in a pretty rural area. I have had to replace two solar panels this past year because of bullets. The solar panels are about 30 feet from the house but those bullets could end up anywhere. I kind of don't care much for hunting season any more.

Yeah, looks like a .223
Someone was shooting their AR-15 into the air. That could have been many miles away. Not nice, but nothing to fret over. It does illustrate why you should not shoot into the air, though. That round was just powered by gravity when it hit.

True story... Every year at one intersection in Battle Creek Michigan the fire department signal division (They maintain street and signal lights, fire alarms in public buildings and such) along with the road folks go to this intersection and turn off the signal and install 4-way stop signs, On jan 2 or the first business day after Jan 1 they come out and restore normal operation.

Why do they do this?

Well on Dec-31 some drunks take turns standing under that light firing guns straight up in the air,, When last I looked at that hight the hoods over the lamps looked like lace doilies and 3 of the 4 through bolts that hold the 150 pound head together had been shot out.

I kind of wonder what happened when someone got lucky with bolt #$,, It would only take 1 second for that 150 pound hunk of iron to hit the ground, and his head would be 5-6 feet ABOVE the ground. .... And to shoot out the bolt you have to be standing DIRECTLY under the fixture.

Yes, sometimes stupidity can be fixed,,,or to be more precise, fixes itself, fatally.
