check home depot or lowes. these faucets are not unusual. they have the same hole spacing as home style faucets. delta, or peerless both make metal faucets.
Our tub/shower has the faucet mounted on the top edge of the tub, with the outlet for the shower hose coming out the top. We needed to replace it a couple of years ago and I searched high and low for a good-quality metal faucet and could not find one!

That style is pretty common in Europe. Not so much around the U.S. We tend to hide our plumbing for the shower inside the wall.
There are many models of hardware that are only sold in plumbing hardware stores. Forget the big box stores and take a picture of what you are trying to replace to a specialty plumbing store.
