Looking for a older roof/ac post

Need to see if anyone remembers the post about installing shims under the roof
AC units to stop ponding water... or a little info if you have done this... water settles around my front AC unit and a very small drip inside, have replaced the seal and tighten the 4 bolts but still will leak when level

What kind of roof do you have?
I have shimmed an aluminum roof before. I put wood under the roof skin. You do not put shims on top of the roof material and under the AC gasket.

Here's an older post that might be what you're looking for.

A common reason for water intrusion that you describe can be blocked drain holes in the pan preventing run off.

I saw an article some time ago about putting a frame/spacer between the roof structure and the rubber membrane to raise and level an air conditioner. Here is a similar repair on a metal roof. Same general idea but 3/4 inch may be a lot for a rubber roof. Under the rubber there could be no sharp edges. Would still need a new gasket when putting the ac back.
Shoring up sagging roof due to air conditioner weight
